The central focus of the cover centers on the dragon’s eye, showing the reflection of a harsh winter scene and symbolizing the looming presence of danger. Eyes are also a recurring symbolic theme throughout the series, representing themes of perception, identity, and transformation. For the animated book cover, subtle cracking ice and howling wind sounds adds to the eerie silence of the winter beyond the wall in A Game of Thrones.
